ORLY R.I.P. Swatch And Review

Today I have ORLY R.I.P. To show you guys. R.I.P. is a black jelly polish with large orange hexagonal glitter and small orange glitter in it. I actually bought this polish because it looked fairly close to China Glaze Fortune Teller just with larger glitter in it...which is a long time lemming of mine that I will have someday...anyway I got this polish to tide me over and I'm very pleased with it. And as promised I will have one more Halloween manicure up shortly I just didn't want to miss my window to get this swatch up before Halloween.

The bottle:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor in shade.

Outdoor in sunlight.
Squee ,with me won't you? I actually saw the sun today for the first time in over a week.

Swatches:
Indoor flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor in sunlight.

Outdoor in shade.

Close up:

All pictures are with two layers of R.I.P. and a top coat. The formula is pretty thick and the glitter does try to glob up on you so watch out for that. But over all it's a wonderful fall nail polish and I think this one will be on my toes a lot this fall. Because I love dark glitter on my toes. Somehow it makes ugly feet (I still think all feet are ugly) look less ugly. I love dark and sparkly and this fits both of those desires as well. But the best part of this polish is that it doesn't require underwear. It's lovely (and opaque) all by it's little old self. Anyway that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Well there you have it. Yet another Halloween manicure. What can I say I love Halloween it's my favorite time of year to do nail art...plus you know the candy doesn't hurt either. What do you guys think? Do you like my witchy mani? Tomorrow I will be back with one last Halloween Manicure then on to fall/Thanksgiving mani's and more swatches. Anyway that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

OPI Skyfall Live And Let Die Swatch and Review

Today, I have a swatch from OPI's Skyfall collection. I am going to show you Live And Let Die (LALD). LALD is a dark green creme polish with green glass like flecks is it. It's a really pretty polish that reminds me a lot of Smoke And Ashes from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection. Maybe after Halloween I will do a comparison post for you guys. Right now I have too many Halloween mani's I want to do so those will come first. Anyway here's the nail swatchy goodness.

The bottle:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor.

Swatches:

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor...weather is still against me. :(

Close up:

All pictures are with two coats of LALD and a top coat. The formula is thick and applies easily. Over all I love this polish. It's a great addition to any collection. Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.

Sinister Manicure

The other day I went and saw the movie Sinister and really enjoyed it for a lot of reasons...none of which I can tell you because I loath movie ruiners. There is a special circle in hell for people who ruin movies so I will not be participatory in such movie blasphemy. Anyway let's just say I am usually not a fan of movies about hauntings (I'm looking at you crappy Paranormal Activity series. You suck!), but Sinister did the haunting movie right. I could even look past Ethan Hawk being in it (imagine that). Here'e a trailer in case you have no idea what I am talking about.

So after seeing this film I decided immediately that I wanted to do a Sinister themed manicure. Mostly because the films big bad named Bughuul (pronounced Bag-oul) is visually as creepy as it gets (think if The Joker (from the Batman comics) mated with The Crow and throw in a little Mick Thompson from Slipknot) and I thought hey I would like that ugly freak on my nails...yeah so I probably need help but if you are regular reader of my blog you already know that. Anyway I'm done blathering here's the manicure.

Pictures:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor...it's snowing so...yeah only one outdoor picture again.

Close ups:
Index finger. 'Hanging with the family' drawing.

Buguul symbol.

Thumb: Buguul face drawing.

What I used:
OPI - Skull & Glossbones
ORLY - Grave Mistake (the name is so perfect for use in this manicure it kills me)
Ceramcoat - Black
Ceramcoat - Charcoal
Americana - Mustard Seed

Also because they refer to Buguul as Mr. Boogie it reminds me of a song (Not that any of you are shocked by that at this point. Everything reminds me of a song). Here's I'm your Boogie Man by Rob Zombie.

So what do you guys think of my Sinister manicure? I am really happy with how the Buguul (thumb) and his symbol (ring finger) came out. I also like that to my knowledge no one has tried to use this movie as a manicure yet and I'm rather excited that I get to be the first one to do it. That's always exciting. Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Midnight Jack-O-Lanterns Manicure

Today, I have another Halloween nail art to show you guys. I have my interpretation of the Midnight Jack-O-Lanterns manicure. It's a pretty simple manicure but I really like how it turned out. Here it is.

Pictures:

Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor...yeah the weather is still not cooperating with me.

What I used:
Sally Girl - Black (no name on the bottle)
Americana - Mustard Seed
Nail Star - Dark Orange
Nail Star - Yellow
China Glaze - Golden Enchantment

Well there you have it. My 'Midnight Jack-O-Lanterns.' I really like how my middle and index fingers turned out...my pinkie...well he looks like he might be a little stoned or something. Let me know what you guys think with comments. I feel like I'm talking to myself over here. Anyway, that's all I have for you today. Until next time, Stay classy and stay polished.

OPI Skyfall Goldeneye Swatch And Review

Today, I have a swatch to show you from the OPI Skyfall collection. I am going to show you Goldeneye. Goldeneye is a gold glitter polish with a gold hued jelly like base. It is by far and away the weirdest (as far as application) polish in my collection. And has my inner Valkyrie tranced into total silence and stillness it's that unbelievably gorgeous.

The bottle:
Indoor flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor.

Close up:

Swatches:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor...yeah so...it's snowing outside...snowing in Idaho before Halloween (insert expletive here) and so there will only be one outdoor picture because the sun is hiding and this is the best I can do.

All the pictures above are with three thin coats of Goldeneye and a single layer of top coat. It applies easily and is a thin formula. The application is simple but weird. The first coat goes on and I'm all "Um what happened to the gold?" It reminded me of more flakie China Glaze Golden Enchantment with one coat. Then I applied a second coat and it started to shine. Then I applied a third coat and my jaw hit the floor. I can not say enough good things about this polish. I think I am in love with it actually. It's like nail foils without the rips, bumps, and application learning curve. So shiny, metallicy (yeah...I know it's not a word, but I'm still using it), and glittery that the first words out of my mouth when I saw this on my nails was, "Sweet mother of Valkyrie, that's pretty!" I can see this polish being worn a lot for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's just amazing, and shiny, and pretty, and exemplary of fall. In fact if you could put fall in a nail polish bottle it would be Goldeneye. And to think I almost didn't pick up this pretty. That would have been a real shame. I may cry when I have to take it off.

I also wanted to include a song with this post that reminds me of Goldeneye. It know it should be something James Bondish (like everyone else is doing) but I don't like those movies and honestly when I see this polish I think Golden Years by David Bowie. So that's what I'm posting. Enjoy.

I also wanted to address the real gold top coat issue in this post so no one feels cheated. I'm sure a few of you are wondering if I will be swatching one of the real gold top coats that are so popular right now. The short answer is no. Since I have metal reactive dyshidrotic eczema I will have to satisfy my want for gold on my finger tips this fall with Goldeneye. I can't wear yellow gold at all (or white gold below 24k) without serious repercussions. So there is no way I would be able to wear the real gold top coats (*sad panda*). Plus, if I spent $40 (What OPI Man With A Golden Gun is going for on Amazon) on a single bottle of nail polish my husband might just stroke out on me. But Goldeneye more than satisfies my want for sparkle and gold without the itchy unpleasantness the gold topcoats would bring me and of course to keep the hubbs from stroking out. Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.

October Haul

Today I have just a couple pictures of my nail/beauty haul for you guys today. I stopped at two places and picked up some pretties. Want to see what I got? I thought you might. Here it is

JC Penny:
I picked up Live And Let Die and Goldeneye from the OPI Skyfall collection. As usual I did not pay full price for my beauties I got them both for $12.

Sally Beauty:
I picked up some pure Acetone, Queen Helene Natural Facial Scrub, ORLY R.I.P., Palladio Waterproof Herbal mascara, Sally Girl Black and Sally Girl White. And because I had a coupon I only paid $11 for everything pictured above (should have been $21). Yay, coupons.

So I got several pretties and didn't pay all that much. Which makes me very happy. Have you guys found any good polish deals lately? If so let me know. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.
XOXO
