China Glaze Fancy Pants...It's Not Blue It's Purple!

Today, I have a swatch from China Glaze's Avant Garden collection to show you guys. I am going to show you Fancy Pants. But before I show it to you I am going to warn you that this polish doesn't photograph well in any light I tried. I can't get a true color (this JPG is a closer color match than any I was able to take). In fact had I known that this polish was purple not blue I probably would not have purchased it. So be warned this polish may appear blue in pictures, but to the eye it's purple. Fancy Pants is purple! Okay, now that I feel you have been properly warned about the color I also want to say I had catastrophic nail failure last night and I have nubs again. But no worries they grow pretty fast and should be back to normal in a month or so. But enough blathering here's Fancy Pants.

Swatches:
Indoor no flash.
*Closest to the color but it's darker and more purple.

Indoor with flash.

Outdoor...
*The heart is covering my wound again.

Closeup:
Indoor no flash. Note the pink flecks.

WARNING: Polish appears blue but is really a medium purple on the nail and in the bottle!!!!

All pictures are with two coats of Fancy Pants and a layer of topcoat. The formula applies easily but dries somewhat slower than other China Glaze polishes. I'm still on the fence with weather I like it or not though. I had my heart set on blue (my favorite color) with pink flecks but got purple with pink flecks. Sad panda. But if you want purple this polish may be right up your alley. I may just be disappointed because all the swatches I saw of this polish were blue and no one said "hey the polish is really purple on the nail." Rude. Anyway, that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

March Stash Additions

Just a small post of polishes I got this month...I've been buying less polish this month so there are just a few. These are mostly from Amazon.com
Pictures:
China Glaze - Fancy Pants & OPI - Oy, Another Polish Joke!

China Glaze - Dandy Lyin' Around, Pink-ie Promise, & Life Is Rosey

I had quite the ordeal in getting the bottle of Life is Rosey as the seller I bought it from originally got broken in.  shipping, then resent the polish and it had spilled out inside the package, so I had to get a refund and then buy it elsewhere. I was starting to think I wasn't supposed to have this polish. Anyway I am trying to buy less polish until I get my untrieds pared down a bit. That's why the one post of additions this month. I'm actually pretty proud of my restraint this month. I was a very good girl. Have you guys added new polishes to your stash? If so what did you get? Anyway that's all I have for you today. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.

Golden Tiger Water Marble Manicure

Today, I have a water marble manicure to show you guys. I call this water marble "Golden Tiger" (inspired by this picture over here) I realized I haven't posted a water marble in quite some time so here's what's on my nails today. Also forgive the wounded heart images, in all the pictures. I cut the crap out of my finger this weekend and have a really gross cut so I used the image to cover it, that way you guys don't have to see it. Also I'm sure this won't be the last time I have to hide wounds on my fingers in pictures...mostly because I am a clumsy ass and hurt myself regularly. Kind of surprised it took this long into my blog for me to hurt my hand though. Translation: I usually hurt my hands frequently. Anyway here's my manicure.

What I used:
China Glaze - Dandy Lyin' Around
OPI - Oy! Not Another Polish Joke
OPI - Goldeneye

And some tunes. A little Atrium for you guys. Haven't heard them? Push play and enjoy.
Atrium - All That Remains

So there you have it. I had a really hard time with this water marble. For one Goldeneye would not spread right and then dried to quickly. Plus the cleanup was a beast. Those little gold flecks in Goldeneye were a pain in the butt to remove from my cuticles after the water marble. I had to wash my hands after the polish was dry to get rid of those little buggers. That said, I really like the way it turned out. Not how I imagined it, but pretty just the same. What do you guys think? Let me know by leaving a comment below. That's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Dollish Polish We're Simply Meant To Be

So before I get to the swatch I wanted to apologize for being MIA this week. Between Spring cleaning and a new workout routine, I have been busy...and had a serious case of T-Rex arms due to over doing it with the weights. It's hard to paint your nails when it hurts to extend your arms away from your body. Still a little sore but getting used to it.
Anyway, today I am going to show you guys We're Simply Meant To Be from Dollish Polish's The Nightmare Before Christmas collection. We're Simply Meant to Be is a mix of hexagonal, square and micro glitter, in silver, violet, burgundy, black, pink, lavender, teal, and yellow all in a clear base. For the swatch I applied it over OPI Skull & Glossbones. Enjoy.

We're Simply Meant To Be - The Nightmare Before Christmas OS

All pictures were taken with two coats of We're Simply Meant To Be over two coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones, finished with a layer of top coat. The polish applies easily (which is awesome considering how many sizes and types of glitter are in it) and dries at an average pace. Over all I love this polish. It's so pretty.  I saw the bottle and was like "It must be mine," then put it on and fell madly in love with it. The only issue (and it's not an issue for me specifically) is that the large black square glitter wanted to hide in the bottle. I only got one of them out. Which may be a deal breaker for you...but it's not for me, it's so pretty that with or without the black squares it's amazing. Also seriously if you haven't seen The Nightmare Before Christmas yet get out from under the rock you live under and watch it. It's a freaking awesome movie. Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

There Will Be No Pinching. My Saint Patrick's Day Manicure

Today, I have my Saint Patrick's Day manicure to show to you guys. I'm only a tiny bit Irish...and by that I mean if you round up (a lot) I'm 5% at best...I'm mostly Scottish, English, and French with a tiny bit of Indian (India). The Indian doesn't show in me, only in my brother (Seriously, could I be any whiter?). But 5% Irish counts as some Irish blood...right? Not that it really matters, I don't think you have to be of Irish decent to not want creepers pinching you on Saint Patrick's Day. You just need to wear some green. And being this pale (I blame the french genes) green has never been a friend to me, so my green will usually (okay, always) be on my nails. Want to see what I did this year? I thought that you might. Here it is.

Pictures:
Indoor no flash.

What I Used:
China Glaze - Cha, Cha, Cha
China Glaze - Running In Circles
China Glaze - Swanky Silk
Americana - Hauser Dark green
10 small medium green gems

I started this manicure with one coat of Swanky Silk then built up a gradient of Swanky Silk, Cha Cha Cha, and Running In Circles using a makeup sponge, until it was as dark as I wanted it. I also employed the make your own decals method for the four leaf clovers. Translation: I put top coat on a piece of plastic, painted the clovers on with acrylic paint, applied the gem stones, let it dry, then removed them from the plastic, cut them apart and applied them to my nails with top coat. I waited till all this dried then applied another layer of top coat to make sure everything stuck were and how it was supposed to. If you guys want, I can do a tutorial on how to use the create your own decals method. Let me know below with a comment if that's something you would like to see. But I digress, how do you like my Saint Patrick's Day mani? I really like how it turned out. The gradient itself is just lovely and the shamrocks that I painted free hand turned out awesome. I didn't know I had it in me. Anyway that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Color Club Beyond

Today, I am going to show you Beyond from Color Club's Halo Hues (2013) collection. I am really excited to show you guys this one, because Beyond is a black linear holographic polish. Which as you know, fits my two main criteria for an awesome polish (Dark and sparkly). I don't know who said, "I know let's make a black holographic polish," but on behalf of my inner Valkyrie I'd just like to say, I think I just fell in love whomever came up with the idea.

Swatches:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Indoor no flash at an angle.

Closeups:
Indoor no flash.

All pictures are with two coats of Beyond and a layer of topcoat. This polish is a thicker formula, but it applies easily, dries quickly, and is fully opaque in two layers. As with other Color Club holographic polishes, make sure that you apply the polish in as straight of lines as possible or you will disrupt the linear holographic effect...it's will be all crooked (if you aren't careful), but even then it still has it's charm (it's still a holo for sobbing out loud). I love Beyond with all my dark, sparkly, Valkyrie heart. It's so pretty. If you don't have it yet, you should order it asap, because this polish will surely become HTF before too long. It's that lovely. Well, that's all I have for today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Enchanted Forest (ONCE) Manicure

Today, I have a fun Once Upon A Time inspired manicure to share with you guys. I decided to do this manicure after I saw Taya's contest (over here) last month. But as you know, I was sick as a dog for what seemed like most of last month, which kept me from participating (insert sad face here). So, I decided now that I am feeling better (even though the competition is closed/over) I still wanted to do this mani because I just love the show...and will continue to do so until/if they kill Rumple...then I'm out. If that makes me a fair weather fan so be it...but why would I keep watching if my favorite character isn't on it anymore? And with them doing the whole "One Will Die" thing, tonight may be the last episode I watch. That would be like The Walking Dead without Daryl. You can't just go killing the fan favorite character...it's rude and stupid. Anyway, that's my fan-rant and it's over now. Sorry about that. But if you agree with me you know what I'm saying. But, I digress (Focus RaynesOnyx, focus!), here's what you are really here for. I hope you guys enjoy this mani.

What I used:
OPI: Can't Find My Czechbook, & Ogre The Top Blue
China Glaze: Bermuda Breakaway, Man Hunt, Dandy Lyin' Around, & Liquid Leather.
Ceramcoat: Black, Charcoal, Platinum

So there it is...it didn't turn out how I planned (my mind can conceive things I am powerless to execute) but I like it just the same. A solid effort I think. I sponged the back ground in a sort of double sided gradient, then hand painted in the back ground trees, sponged on the fog, then painted in the closer, darker trees. What do you guys think? Do you like how it turned out? Do you watch Once Upon A Time? If so who's your favorite character and why? Also, who do you think they will/should kill off tonight? I think they should kill Cora...She's a psycho hose beast. Leave me a comment below and we can talk about it. Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

OPI Can't Find My Czechbook

Today, I am going to show you Can't Find My Czechbook from OPI's Euro Central collection. Can't Find My Czechbook is a teal creme polish that I just love.

Swatches:
Indoor no flash.

Indoor with flash.

All pictures are with two coats of Can't Find My Czechbook and a layer of topcoat. This polish is thin but applies to full opacity in two coats. Now normally I am not a huge fan of OPI creme polishes...I love OPI but their cremes (specially the light ones) are streaky and thin and you have to apply 4 or more layers to reach opacity...this is nothing like the other thin streaky OPI creme polishes I have. Which makes it even better. It's such a pretty blue, I just love it. Well that's all I  have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Dollish Polish I'm The Boogieman

Today, I am going to show you guys I'm The Boogieman from Dollish Polish. This polish is inspired by Oogie Boogie (i.e. The Boogieman) from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm The Boogieman. For those of you who don't know Oogie Boogie is a big, angry, burlap sack monster, that glows neon green in the dark, is filled with bugs, and is the main antagonist of the film. Also if you don't know this movie, I order you (nicely order you) to go watch it. It's awesome. I'm The Boogieman is a pearlescent sage green polish with medium sized green hexagonal glitter, small green hexagonal glitter, small silver hexagonal glitter, and small coppery brown hexagonal glitter in it.

Stalk Dollish Polish on Facebook here, and visit the shop here

Here's his song. The Oogie Boogie Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas

All pictures are with three coats of I'm The Boogieman and a heavy layer of top coat. And you are going to need the heavy layer of topcoat. the glitter gets a little bumpy but a thick coat of Seche Vite gives it a flat high gloss sheen. The formula is a little thick but applies easily and dries really quickly. Over all I am pleasantly surprised by this polish. I didn't think I was going to like it...in fact I didn't even order it, I received it as a free gift with purchase from a seller on eBay. Even when I looked at the bottle I thought "ehh." But on the nail it's actually quite pretty. I rather like it and I'm not a huge green fan (being this pale green has never been a friend to me). But this green I actually like. I can see this polish being warn for Saint Patrick's Day as my something green (because I loath being pinched but I don't own green clothing). Anyway what do you guys think? Are you loving it? Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Color Club Over The Moon

Today, I have a very pretty polish from Color Club's Halo-Hues 2013 to show you guys. You are about to see Over The Moon. A very pretty in your face linear holographic, blue polish. This polish is amazing. Definitely my favorite holo in this line so far (2012 and 2013). So So pretty and without further ado. Here she is.

Swatches:
Indoor no flash.

Closeups:

All pictures are with two coats of Over The Moon and a layer of topcoat. The formula on this polish is awesome and applies like a dream. That said make sure you do straight strokes or you will see the crooked lines in your dried polish. Like the other polishes in this line it dries pretty fast which is awesome because it can fall into you "mani in a quick" stash, plus the pay off is huge. I am deeply in love with this polish. What do you guys think? Are you loving it? I am going to be one sad panda when I have to take it off...and I should also mention that you probably shouldn't wear this polish while driving...or operating heavy machinery because you may get to distracted to pay attention. Anyway that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.
XOXO
