Happy Saint Patrick's Day Manicure

Today, I have some nail art to show you guys. It's been a couple months since I posted nail art and those of you who are regular readers know why. I've just been over the whole drama and bullying in the nail art world. But I decided that I would go ahead and post some nail art since it was kind of a holiday (hear this as not holiday enough so that I don't have to work) and I'm like <5% Irish (which is enough to claim....right?) But anyway I decided, you know what, screw the bullies. I'm gonna do my thing, and post some GD nail art. So here it is:

What I Used:

China Glaze - Running In Circles
OPI - Love.Angel.Music.Baby
OPI - 4 In The Morning

To get this look I used the taping method and then used a dotting tool (or a teeny tiny paint brush) to add the gold accents. So yeah...it's green, black and gold...and after talking with my BFF we decided that it's kind of a Loki-esque manicure too...but what's a girl to do when a holiday uses green and gold (both colors look ick on me, so I need the black to balance it out. But seriously whenever I wear green I get asked if I'm sick...It's not a good look for me! Clearly whomever picked these colors for a holiday did not take deathly pale people such as myself into account). Besides it's not my fault they share colors. Also I like Loki so whatever. Let it be whichever you choose...but for me I'm saying it's Saint Patrick's Day...because I feel less like a freak of nature that way. But I digress, I have a tendency to do that (I'm like look a butterfly and away I go. But you guy know that already. And you like me anyway. Thanks for that.). (Focus RaynesOnyx, FOCUS!) I hope you guys have a happy Saint Patrick's Day. Be responsible and don't drive drunk please (You know how I feel about that). That's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Finger Paints Hue Brighten My Day

Today, I have a Finger Paints Hue Brighten My Day swatch to show you guys. Hue Brighten My Day is a dark hunter green polish with gold, silver, and holographic glitter in a variety of hexagons and square shapes. Free warning this polish may trigger a full of Valkyrie trance.

Pictures:

I used 3 coats of Hue Brighten My Day and a layer of top coat. The polish is sheer but it dries quickly and applies easily. Over all, I really like this polish. It's dark and sparkly, and I love it with all my dark, sparkly, Valkyrie heart. Definitely a must have fall glitter, for anyone who likes dark polish, sparkly polish, or fall color nail polish. So what do you guys think? Are you loving Hue Brighten My Day as much as I am? Well, that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

ORLY Mermaid Tale

Today, I have a swatch of Orly's Mermaid Tale from their Flash Glam collection to show you guys. Mermaid Tale is a mix of large and small holographic, green glitter, in a clear base. For these pictures I used OPI Mermaid's Tears as underwear.

Swatches:

I used two coats of OPI Mermaids Tears under two coats of ORLY Mermaids Tale followed by a layer of top coat. The formula can glob up on you, so make sure you keep the coats thin, it does however dry fairly quickly so if you want to go for a third coat you won't have to wait that long for it to dry. Over all I really like this nail polish. Let me clarify that for a minute by saying that green is not normally a color I can pull off (without being asked if ill). But this one , I can wear and I genuinely love it. So pretty. Possibly my favorite of the Flash Glam set that I own. Anyway, that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

China Glaze OMG A UFO

Today I have another polish from China Glaze's Hologlam collection to show you guys. I am going to show you OMG A UFO. OMG A UFO is a light olive green holographic polish that has hints of yellow and darker green. And yes there is a PIM video as well. That's why this post is up so late. Video editing takes me a while.

PIM:

For the pictures and video above I use two coats of OMG A UFO and layer of top coat. This polish like all of them in the line are of a finicky nature but I think they are well worth the effort. I have to say that I really like this polish...and that's saying something because normally me and green nail polish don't get on well. Hear this as, when I wear green I get asked if I am sick a lot (White girl problems). But I rather like this mossy shade of green. What do you ladies think? Is OMG A UFO a hit or a miss? Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

There Will Be No Pinching. My Saint Patrick's Day Manicure

Today, I have my Saint Patrick's Day manicure to show to you guys. I'm only a tiny bit Irish...and by that I mean if you round up (a lot) I'm 5% at best...I'm mostly Scottish, English, and French with a tiny bit of Indian (India). The Indian doesn't show in me, only in my brother (Seriously, could I be any whiter?). But 5% Irish counts as some Irish blood...right? Not that it really matters, I don't think you have to be of Irish decent to not want creepers pinching you on Saint Patrick's Day. You just need to wear some green. And being this pale (I blame the french genes) green has never been a friend to me, so my green will usually (okay, always) be on my nails. Want to see what I did this year? I thought that you might. Here it is.

Pictures:
Indoor no flash.

Outdoor in shade.

What I Used:
China Glaze - Cha, Cha, Cha
China Glaze - Running In Circles
China Glaze - Swanky Silk
Americana - Hauser Dark green
10 small medium green gems

I started this manicure with one coat of Swanky Silk then built up a gradient of Swanky Silk, Cha Cha Cha, and Running In Circles using a makeup sponge, until it was as dark as I wanted it. I also employed the make your own decals method for the four leaf clovers. Translation: I put top coat on a piece of plastic, painted the clovers on with acrylic paint, applied the gem stones, let it dry, then removed them from the plastic, cut them apart and applied them to my nails with top coat. I waited till all this dried then applied another layer of top coat to make sure everything stuck were and how it was supposed to. If you guys want, I can do a tutorial on how to use the create your own decals method. Let me know below with a comment if that's something you would like to see. But I digress, how do you like my Saint Patrick's Day mani? I really like how it turned out. The gradient itself is just lovely and the shamrocks that I painted free hand turned out awesome. I didn't know I had it in me. Anyway that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Dollish Polish I'm The Boogieman

Today, I am going to show you guys I'm The Boogieman from Dollish Polish. This polish is inspired by Oogie Boogie (i.e. The Boogieman) from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm The Boogieman. For those of you who don't know Oogie Boogie is a big, angry, burlap sack monster, that glows neon green in the dark, is filled with bugs, and is the main antagonist of the film. Also if you don't know this movie, I order you (nicely order you) to go watch it. It's awesome. I'm The Boogieman is a pearlescent sage green polish with medium sized green hexagonal glitter, small green hexagonal glitter, small silver hexagonal glitter, and small coppery brown hexagonal glitter in it.

Stalk Dollish Polish on Facebook here, and visit the shop here

Here's his song. The Oogie Boogie Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas

All pictures are with three coats of I'm The Boogieman and a heavy layer of top coat. And you are going to need the heavy layer of topcoat. the glitter gets a little bumpy but a thick coat of Seche Vite gives it a flat high gloss sheen. The formula is a little thick but applies easily and dries really quickly. Over all I am pleasantly surprised by this polish. I didn't think I was going to like it...in fact I didn't even order it, I received it as a free gift with purchase from a seller on eBay. Even when I looked at the bottle I thought "ehh." But on the nail it's actually quite pretty. I rather like it and I'm not a huge green fan (being this pale green has never been a friend to me). But this green I actually like. I can see this polish being warn for Saint Patrick's Day as my something green (because I loath being pinched but I don't own green clothing). Anyway what do you guys think? Are you loving it? Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Color Club Ho-Ho Holly

The forth entry in the scented polish odyssey is Ho-Ho Holly from Color Club's A Winter Affair collection. Ho-Ho Holly is a metallic hunter green sparkle. And it is supposed to be scented with Wooded-Herbs according to Sally Beauty Supply's website.

Swatches:

All pictures are with two coats of Ho-Ho Holly and a top coat. This polish is fairly thin but applies easily to full opacity in two coats, and it dries quickly. It's actually a really pretty metallic green, that would be great for Christmas or Saint Patrick's day, and I actually have an idea for an Easter basket mani with this polish as the Easter grass, so Easter would be good as well. Or you know Thursday because you like green polish...I'm not the boss of you wear it when you want. The only problem with the polish for me is the smell...it stinks to all high heaven. It smells like someone took one of those little tree shaped (fake)pine scented air freshers and dipped it in Old Spice cologne. Which happen to be two of my least favorite smells in the entire world BTW. It's like layering one bad smell over another. A heavy topcoat deadened the smell a bit to a tolerable level but...bleck just the same. I see extra hand washing in my future with this polish. But hey if you like those little pine tree air fresheners and Old Spice you will love the smell...me not so much. Luckily, the polish is a pretty color so I can over look the stench...what we ladies do for beauty. Have you guys tried it? Do you think it smells good or do you agree with me and say it smells like someone rubbed a pine air freshener on grampa? Anyway that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Nail-Venturous Floam Swatch and Review

Today I am very pleased to be able to show you Floam by Nail-venturous. This polish has been a long time lemming for me and was my first nail polish crush. I am so super happy that this beauty is now in my collection. Floam is mix of green, yellow, and teal micro hexagon, matte glitter in a clear base. And can I just say before I show you this polish that it's everything I hoped it would be and more. I adored this polish before I owned it and now...well now I am full on in love with it. But enough blathering. Here's Floam.

All pictures are with three coats of Floam and a layer of topcoat. It's a thick formula but it didn't cause any application issues. That said make sure you let each layer of Floam dry fully before applying the next layer. Or you will have matte glitter migration. How much do you love Floam? Because I love it to the moon and back. I couldn't be happier that after almost two years of trying to get a hold of a bottle I was able to out bid someone on eBay and for only $13. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this manicure and this polish. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

China Glaze Running In Circles Swatch And Review

I can't wait to show you guys this polish. I am not surprised by polish very often but this polish has managed it. I wasn't going to buy this polish when I first saw it, thinking it was not for me, but since I had a Amazon.com gift card I figured "Hey, it's free for me so if it sucks I can just pass it to someone else." So I bought it. Can I just say that when I opened the package my jaw hit the floor. I was stunned. Running In Circles (RIC) is stunning. It's a green polish with medium and dark green glass(like) flecks in it. Think Riveting but in green. I think my new nail polish obsession is going to be glass(like) flake polishes because I am head over feet in love with this pretty polish. Which is saying something because I am normally bot a big green nail polish kind of girl. Mostly because green is not a good color on me (normally). Let's just say I get asked if I am sick a lot when I wear green (I am one white, white girl...I'm practically Powder over here. JK but only by a little). Any who, let's get this polish show on the road. And for a special treat I also swatched it with a matte top coat.

Close Up:

All pictures are with three coats of RIC and a top coat (Seche Vite of China Glaze Matte Magic). So how much are you loving this polish? Because I am complete crazy in a mad frenzy sort of way in love with this green glass flecked polish. My inner Valkyrie is jumping up and down, while clapping her hands. I don't ever want to take it off. If you don't have it, go out and get it now before it's gone or becomes an HTF. It also screams Christmas and will most likely be working it's way into some Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day manicures next year. Because I will use any excuse to wear this polish again. Well, that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.
