OPI Vesper

Today, I have Vesper from OPI's Bond Girls collection to show you guys. Vesper is a deep dark purple liquid sand polish....in fact it's so dark purple that in some lights it looks almost black. And it's matte...yet glittery...And As you know I love dark glittery polish with all my Valkyrie heart. So with out further ado here's Vepser.

Swatches:

In all the pictures above I used 3 coats of Vesper and no top coat. Yeah so the formula on this one was not as great as the other two I have in this collection. It's pretty thin and dries pretty slow. And I'm a little annoyed that after three coats you can still see (in some lighting) a pale purple color that shows lack of pigmentation. But the wear time is the same and the color is very pretty...so it's a trade off. Over all I like it...but it's probably my least favorite of the collection that I have so far. Which is weird because it was the one I wanted the most. What do you ladies think? Have you had trouble with vesper's opacity like I did? Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

OPI Pussy Galore

Today, I have Pussy Galore from OPI's Bond Girls collection to show you guys. Like I stated when I swatched some of the polishes from the Skyfall collection I'm not a James Bond (007) fan. I happen to prefer my acts of senseless fictional violence to be in horror films (And preferably perpetrated by some form of lurking monster, mutant, zombie, serial killer, ghost, alien, and/or demon. As nature intended.) over random super villain(ish) action films. But hey different strokes and all that. So you know I didn't want this polish because of some attachment to the films. I wanted this polish because it is so pretty. And my best friend Marcie picked it up for me (cuz she's awesome like that), so now I can wear and share this pretty polish with you guys. Pussy Galore is a pale, baby pink, pearly nail polish with a liquid sand finish, but enough of my blathering. Here's Pussy Galore (*shakes head* There really is no way to say the name of this polish that doesn't sound filthy. lol).

For all pictures above I used two coats of Pussy Galore and no topcoat. It applied easily and dried fairly quickly. I really love this polish. It's so pretty. Then there is the added factor of wear time. I love the liquid sand nail polishes because they last so long. I can literally wear a liquid sand polish for about a week before it chips. And my standards are pretty high for that sort of thing. I'm a one chip and I have to re-polish my nails kind of girl.  But the liquid sands last through multiple showers/shampoos. So yeah the name on this polish is a little naughty (okay a lot naughty), but the polish itself is lovely. If the name bothers you...you seriously need to find a way to get over it, because this polish is a must have. What do you guys think? Are you loving liquid sand or not? I know I am. Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

OPI Can't Let Go Swatch and Review

Today, I have a swatch of Can't Let Go (CLG) from OPI's Mariah Carey collection. This is the last of the liquid sand polishes from the collection I have to show you guys. CLG in a dark purple glitter with medium size hexagonal glitter in it. I also want to say that there will only be indoor pictures today as it's -4 outside and I don't want to be an icicle. That's not a good look for me. So as a compromise I did an additional two photos with a topcoat applied to see what everyone is raving about.

No Top coat

The fist two swatches are with two layers of CLG and no topcoat. the second two swatches are with two coats of CLG and two very heavy coats of topcoat. And by heavy coats I mean take the heaviest topcoat layer you have ever applied then double it. And after said layers of topcoat I decided that I like this polish better without topcoat. What do you guys think? To topcoat or not to topcoat, that is the question. Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

OPI Get Your Number Swatch and Review

Today, I have Get Your Number (GYN) from OPI's Mariah Carey collection to show you guys. GYN is a medium blue liquid sand polish with multi-sized silver holographic glitter in it. I love this polish. It's freaking amazing. My inner Valkyrie is going nuts on this one. So without further ado here's the pictures.

And a song... because I like the song. Enjoy P!nk - Timebomb.

All pictures are with two coats of GYN with no top coat. The formula is thicker than the other two I have swatched but dries quickly. Also it's worth noting that this polish is sandier than the others in the collection that I have swatched. It has a courser texture, probably due to the different type (and amount of glitter) in this one. But so far this one is by far my favorite in the collection. I just love it. That's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

OPI The Impossible Swatch and Review

Today, I have The Impossible from OPI's Mariah Carey collection to show you guys. The Impossible is a liquid sand polish which means that it dries to a bumpy sand like matte finish. It's a bright pink glitter with mildly holographic pink glitter, silver hexagons and star glitter in it. And to be honest the reason I bought this polish is because of the star glitter. I love stars/moons/all night related images. As if you couldn't tell. As soon as I knew this polish had stars in it, I was there. But enough talking about it, it's time to start showing it.

And a song that to me fits this polish much better than anything by Mariah Carey (I'm not a fan. Sorry).
Pink - True Love.

All pictures are with two coats of The Impossible and not top coat. the formula is thin, applies easily and dries quickly. I really enjoy the color of this polish. That said I was really disappointed in the wear of this polish. The stars I was so excited about where a pain in the butt to get out of the bottle and on to the nail and once they were on the nail they didn't lay flat (probably because of the sand texture), which left little pokey star edges to catch on everything and to pop off leaving an icky silver outline of the star that used to be. Which was a total bummer for me. I wanted those little stars so bad and they were nothing but a disappointment. I'll probably wear the polish again but I will make sure to avoid said stars as they were such a pain to apply and wear. I also still question the placement of sand polish in the Mariah Carey collection. I think P!nk or Ke$ha would have been a far better fit in songstress than Mariah Carey. Either one are far more gritty and real than Mariah. IMO. But you decide for yourself. That's all I have for today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

OPI Stay The Night Swatch and Review

I am so excited to show you guys this polish. It's unfreaking believable. Stay The Night (STN) is a liquid sand polish from OPI's Mariah Carey collection, that has both black and medium neon-ish glitter in it. This polish dries to a sandy matte finish while still somehow retaining it's sparkle. Dark + Sparkle = Valkyrie overload and me head over feet in love with this polish.

The bottle:

I love how this close up turned out. You can see the glitter and the awesome texture.

And a video... because I love the song and this polish reminds me of this song...for some reason.
Enjoy some Darren Hayes - Dirty.

This polish applies easily and dries insanely fast. All pictures are with two coats of STN and no top coat. That's right no top coat. Which is so weird for me. It's like my nails are running around in their panties or something. This polish is worth it for one main reason...it's really fun texture. I really like the dirty, gritty texture of this glitter. I am however left wondering why it ended up in the Mariah Carey collection though...Mariah Carey is so polished and girly this polish is so gritty and not in sync with that...It just seems to be disjointed from her image if that makes sense...but hey what do I know I'm just a silly girl. That said the distressed nature of this polish is actually one of the things I love about it. It's raw, gritty texture is just awesome. That's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

First January Haul

Hi, guys! Today, I have my first January 2013 haul to show you. It's an Amazon.com/Sally Beauty Supply haul. And if you haven't made it into Sally's after Christmas you should really go. Because they are having an additional 50% off all red tag clearance items sale. So I made out like a bandit and only spent $7.39. Any way enough of my ramblings here's what I got.

Amazon.com:

OPI - Stay The Night and Zoya - Phoebe.
All on a gift card so it's free for me.

Sally Beauty Supply:

Color Club - Winter Affair ($0.99 after discount).

Color Club mini set: Berry & Bright, Ho-Ho Holly, Glitter Wonderland, and Snow-Flakes
($2.49 or $0.63 a piece after discount).

China Glaze Wicked Full size set: Roguish Red, Glitter Goblin, Bizarre Blurple and Ghoulish Glow
($3.49 or $0.88 a piece after discounts).

So yeah considering I spent less than $8 and got 9 polishes I would call that a Sally shopping success. Wouldn't you. Granted I already have two of the Color Club mini's (Snow Flake and Berry Bright) but I wanted the green and blue so my best friend, fellow nail polish addict, and minion Marcie will get those because as much as I love nail polish I don't need multiple bottles of the same color...unless its CG White On White or Liquid Leather (because I go through them crazy fast, about 2 bottles of each a year). Anyway if you haven't stopped by your local Sally you better hurry while all the good stuff is still there. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.
XOXO
