╰☆╮My Birthday Manicure╰☆╮

Today, I have my birthday manicure to show you guys. And while we are not going to talk about the number that goes along with said birthday (and if you know what number goes with this birthday I'll thank you to keep that information to yourself). I decided I wanted a manicure in my favorite color (Blue) with silver (my favorite metallic color) accents. So with no further ado here's my birthday manicure 2013 edition:

Pictures:

What I Used:

China Glaze - Scandalous Shenanigans
China Glaze - Gossip Over Gimlets
Stamping Plates:
Mash - Mash-34 & Mash-49
Cheeky - CH9 & CH41

...And because it's my birthday here's my favorite song. And yes it's been my favorite song since I was 6 years old and probably will be until the day I die.
Angel by Aerosmith

For this manicure I used two coats of each color and then stamped the other color on top of it. In case you were wondering the symbol on my pinkie is the sun sign for Virgo. And the stars on the middle nail are just because I love stars. I put them on everything...they are kind of my thing...you know how everyone has their symbol or sign that they adore. Mine happens to be stars. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy this manicure. That's all I have for you today, as it is my birthday I am off to birthday related shenanigans. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Color Club Harp On It Swatch and Review

Today, I have Harp On It (HOT) from Color Club's Halo-Hues (Part 1) collection to show you guys. HOT is a silver holographic polish that is a true, knock your socks off, full on Valkyrie trance inducing holo. So free warning you may fall deeply and completely head over feet for this sexy holographic silver polish. Enough blathering, here's the sexy lady now.

The bottle:

Outdoor...the sun disappeared...

Swatches:

Outdoor in sunlight.

Outdoor in shade.

Closeups:

All photos are with three coats of HOT and layer of top coat. The formula is a tad thick but not tricky to apply and it dries pretty quickly so no worries there...but the best part is the holographic rainbow. How's that for a holo pay off. I just love this polish. Color Club is doing Holo right with this polish line. So far I have loved every one of them. And needless to say my inner Valkyrie is in a full on trance, twittering away at the pretty sparklies. What do you guys think? Are you loving the Halo-Hues collection as much as I am? Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.

New Year's Eve Manicure.

Today I have my New Years Eve manicure for you guys. It's a dual process manicure (stamping, gradient, and free hand).

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor in shade.

Outdoor in sunlight.

What I used:
Color Club: Worth The Risque
China Glaze: Glistening Snow
OPI: Number One Nemesis
Nubar: Black Polka Dot
Konad: Black
Ceramicoat: Black
Cheeky Plates: CH5, CH36, CH37, CH42

So there you have it my New Years Mani. I hope you all enjoy your holiday and be safe. Make sure you have a designated driver so you can have fun and still be safe/smart. I don't want to get to preachy about it, but it's very important to me that people not drive drunk. I lost my mother when I was a kid because of a drunk driver. So this issue is very close to my heart. Go out, have fun, but don't be stupid. Call a cab, call a sober friend...do whatever you have to do, just don't drive drunk tonight (or any other night). No child should have to loose her/his parent/sibling/relative and no one who's reading this needs to be responsible for such travesties. Please be safe and smart. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

I am still not feeling very well but I decided I would at least get a swatch up for you guys. So, here is Lorelei's Tiara from the China Glaze Eye Candy collection. Lorelei's Tiara is a silver and teal glitter in a clear base. The silver is micro glitter and the teal is medium sized teal glitter. This polish will surely leave your inner Valkyrie in a trance because it's just that sparkly.

China Glaze Get Carried Away Swatch And Review

Today, I have a swatch from the China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil collection for you guys. Get Carried Away is a black jelly with small and large hexagonal glitter (silver, black and dark pink), and black bar glitter in it. Now normally I don't buy polish with bar glitter. I hate bar glitter. It never lays right, clumps up, and if you get a piece of said bar glitter hanging off the edge of your nail after your polish dries, you are in for some not so fun paper cuts. But I put aside my deep dislike of bar glitter to try this polish because it's dark and glittery (two of the best qualities a polish can possess) plus I just adore when black and red or black and dark pink are pared together. That and it was free thanks to Amazon gift cards so worse case scenario I pass it off to my best friend (and fellow polish addict) Marcie.  Anyway, enough blathering on my part here's the polish.

The bottle:
Indoor with flash.

Outdoor. Stupid rainy weather.

Swatches:

Outdoor.

Close up:
*All my close up shots are taken of polish on the nail, not in the bottle. So you get a better idea of what it will look like on.

The pictures above are with 3 layers of Get Carried Away, and two layers of topcoat (this polish like all large glitter polishes eats top coat alive). The bar glitter was as expected, a ginormous pain in the...well you know where it was a pain. I ended up having to use tweezers to remove a few bar glitter that refuse to lay right at the tips and cuticles. Also the nail polish is really thick and gloppy which adds another level of annoyance to the polish. What I find really kind of funny is that on the nail you barely even see the bar glitter and (in my opinion) the polish would have been better without it. I love the hexagons though so pretty. And I think the polish could look really cool layered over another polish. If I had payed for this polish I probably would have been a grumpy Gus but I didn't so it's kind of like, ehh it's alright. I may have to try it as part of a jelly sandwich and then decide if I'll pass it on down the line. Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.
