╰☆╮My Birthday Manicure╰☆╮

Today, I have my birthday manicure to show you guys. And while we are not going to talk about the number that goes along with said birthday (and if you know what number goes with this birthday I'll thank you to keep that information to yourself). I decided I wanted a manicure in my favorite color (Blue) with silver (my favorite metallic color) accents. So with no further ado here's my birthday manicure 2013 edition:

Pictures:

What I Used:

China Glaze - Scandalous Shenanigans
China Glaze - Gossip Over Gimlets
Stamping Plates:
Mash - Mash-34 & Mash-49
Cheeky - CH9 & CH41

...And because it's my birthday here's my favorite song. And yes it's been my favorite song since I was 6 years old and probably will be until the day I die.
Angel by Aerosmith

For this manicure I used two coats of each color and then stamped the other color on top of it. In case you were wondering the symbol on my pinkie is the sun sign for Virgo. And the stars on the middle nail are just because I love stars. I put them on everything...they are kind of my thing...you know how everyone has their symbol or sign that they adore. Mine happens to be stars. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy this manicure. That's all I have for you today, as it is my birthday I am off to birthday related shenanigans. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Nautical Nails

Today, I have a nautical inspired manicure to show you guys. The idea for this manicure kinda just happened while I was going through my plates. I realized how may nautical theme stamping plates I actually have...none of which were purchased for the nautical images. They were all obtained for other designs on the plate or in the plate set. So, I decided what the hell. I'll do a nautical theme manicure. After all I had the required equipment. It's still kinda summer right (Ehh, close enough). Anyway, no further blathering from me. Here's my nautical stamping manicure:

Pictures:

What I Used:

China Glaze - White On White
China Glaze - Man Hunt
Orly - Grave Mistake
Konad - White
Konad - Blue
Stamping Plates:
Cheeky - CH49 & CH36
Essence - 01 Have Fun
Shany - SH211

And a song that's kind of nautical...kind of...okay not really but it's Darren Hayes. I would hear him sing if it cost me my ears. Push play. Listen. Enjoy. You're welcome.
The Siren's Call - Darren Hayes.

I don't think this manicure needs much explanation. It's stamping nail art. I painted my nails then stamped on a design. I was feeling kinda lazy, but wanted more than just plain old nail polish. I hope you guys like it. To be honest I don't know all that much about all things nautical...we don't have a lot of boats in land locked Idaho. So....my boating experience is kind of minuscule. I guess, we do have the Snake River but....about 3-4 people die in it every summer...so, it kind of conflicts with my life plan (of not drowning in a river, and I'm rather attached to this life plan). I have however logged many hours on boats while playing The Sims 3 Island Paradise. I'm going to pretend that simulation counts as experience. JK. Anyway, that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

4th Of July/Independence Day Manicure.

Today, I have a quick manicure to share with you guys. If you are not in the US, the July 4th is our Independence Day. And this is the manicure I did to celebrate it. I actually got the idea for this after watching  a YouTube Video by SimpleLittlePleasures (see tutorial here) and decided I wanted to try a similar manicure but I added stars (cuz I love stars)...plus I had to make it my own. That said this would look better on her nails...because they are gorgeous (and a length I will never be able to achieve) and right now I have nubs after a laundry accident that ripped one nail down to the quick on my left hand (laundry day is a very dangerous day!). So these are pictures of my right hand (so please pretend to not notice the odd angles). But anyway here's my 4th of July mani. Enjoy.

What I Used:
China Glaze - White On White
China Glaze - Dandy Lyin' Around
China Glaze - Dorthy Who?
China Glaze - Ruby Pumps
Konad - White
Cheeky Plate - CH4

I used a combination of taping, sponging, free hand, and stamping to get this look. It took forever. And I have a ton, and I do mean a ton of nail polish on. So I sat trying to not dent my nails for a really long time. That's why this post is up so late. I hope you enjoy it. Anyway have a safe and happy 4th of July. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

China Glaze Of Course

Today I have Of Course! from China Glaze's Texture collection to show you guys. Of Course! is a bright blue matte texture polish. This one is my favorite from the collection. For a couple of reasons. One because it's blue (my fave color) and two because it wears the best IMO. Anyway with out any further ado. Here is Of Course!

Swatches:

In all the pictures above I used two coats of Of Course! and no top coat. This polish applies easily and dries quickly. A note though, like with all texture nail polishes it can be a pain to remove. Make sure you have some pure acetone polish to remove it with or it's going to take you a while. But over all I really like this polish and now I kind of want the other texture polishes in this line. I actually like how they aren't sparkly like all the other texture polishes. That makes them more interesting....plus they look like bumpy jelly beans which is kinda awesome. Anyway that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Color Club Over The Moon

Today, I have a very pretty polish from Color Club's Halo-Hues 2013 to show you guys. You are about to see Over The Moon. A very pretty in your face linear holographic, blue polish. This polish is amazing. Definitely my favorite holo in this line so far (2012 and 2013). So So pretty and without further ado. Here she is.

Swatches:

Closeups:

All pictures are with two coats of Over The Moon and a layer of topcoat. The formula on this polish is awesome and applies like a dream. That said make sure you do straight strokes or you will see the crooked lines in your dried polish. Like the other polishes in this line it dries pretty fast which is awesome because it can fall into you "mani in a quick" stash, plus the pay off is huge. I am deeply in love with this polish. What do you guys think? Are you loving it? I am going to be one sad panda when I have to take it off...and I should also mention that you probably shouldn't wear this polish while driving...or operating heavy machinery because you may get to distracted to pay attention. Anyway that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.

Color Club Gift Of Sparkle (Sally Beauty Supply edition)

So the odyssey of scented nail polish continues. Today, I am going to show you guys Gift Of Sparkle from Color Club's A Winter Affair collection. Now there are two versions of Gift Of Sparkle floating around out there. One for Sally Beauty Supply (which is what I am going to show you) that is a metallic blue sparkle and one which is a purple glitter. Why they did that, I don't know...other than to make us want both. The evil geniuses.

Swatches:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.
*Best color representation.

Outdoor...it's trying to snow so it's shade(ish).

Closeup:
Indoor no flash.

All pictures are with two coats of Gift Of Sparkle with a layer of topcoat. This formula dries quickly and applies easily. It's also worth noting that for a blue metallic polish it removes fairly easy (most of them are a real pain in the butt to take off). The smell of this polish is supposed to be (according to Sally Beauty) hot cocoa and marshmallows. And I definitely smell that...but it smells more like the powdered cocoa mix with dehydrated marshmallows than a real cup of cocoa. Which let's face it, is not the same thing, but not a bad smell either. It reminds me of fall/winter mornings when my mom would make me hot chocolate with breakfast (I know I was spoiled but what can I say my mommy loved me). It's just a really sweet cocoa vanilla smell. If you are not a chocoholic as I am or if you are one of those people who don't like chocolate (That's just unnatural by the way) then you might want to pass this one by. But other than that it's probably my favorite metallic blue that I own. In fact I wish I had bought a big bottle of this one (instead of the mini) and passed on Blue Bells Ring by China Glaze (since they are very similar colors) and this one doesn't stain your nails. Beyond the removal of Gift of Sparkle being easier than Blue Bells Ring the smell is 1000 times better. Anyway that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time stay classy and stay polished.

OPI Get Your Number Swatch and Review

Today, I have Get Your Number (GYN) from OPI's Mariah Carey collection to show you guys. GYN is a medium blue liquid sand polish with multi-sized silver holographic glitter in it. I love this polish. It's freaking amazing. My inner Valkyrie is going nuts on this one. So without further ado here's the pictures.

And a song... because I like the song. Enjoy P!nk - Timebomb.

All pictures are with two coats of GYN with no top coat. The formula is thicker than the other two I have swatched but dries quickly. Also it's worth noting that this polish is sandier than the others in the collection that I have swatched. It has a courser texture, probably due to the different type (and amount of glitter) in this one. But so far this one is by far my favorite in the collection. I just love it. That's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

OPI Last Friday Night Swatch and Review

Today, I have Last Friday Night (LFN) from OPI's Katy Perry collection. LFN is micro and medium hexagonal glitter in a light blue jelly base. I wasn't going to swatch this one right away but I had a not so subtle "request" from my friend Marcie to swatch this asap. And by subtle I mean not at all subtle and by ask I mean begged/pleaded/insisted. So here it is. Peer pressure-er.

The bottle:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor in shade.

Outdoor in sunlight. Real sunlight!!! First time in over a month.

Swatches:
Indoor with flash.

Indoor no flash.

Outdoor in shade. How's that for some shady shade?

Outdoor in sunlight.

Close ups:

Indoor no flash.

And a song I'm obsessed with at the moment:
Savage Garden - Mine (And You Could Be)

All pictures are with four coats of LFN and a heavy top layer of top coat. The formula is fairly thin and applies easily despite the hexagons (which are usually problematic). Also this polish dries crazy fast so the 4 layers it took to get this look didn't take very long to dry. Maybe one average length song dry time per coat. Over all I like this polish and it's very pretty on it's own. I think in the future I will wear it with some underwear (Maybe over black or a medium blue creme) and do a little mini-post about how this polish looks over a compliment color. Anyway that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Instagram Tag #NailsForNewton Manicure

Today, I have a manicure I did for an Instagram tag (#NailsForNewton). Which is in memory of the tragedy that happened in Newton this past week. This manicure is not for the media coverage, it's not for the gun debate, and sure as hell not for the psychopathic killer...it's for the kids and remembering that every life matters and every life has value. It's for those little ones who will never have another Christmas, never grow up, and never achieve all the hopes and dreams their parents had for them. This is to remember the victims,  those lost children and for their parents who are left to grieve for them.

Indoor with flash.

Outdoor in shade.

Outdoor in sun(ish).

What I Used:
OPI - Ogre The Top Blue
China Glaze - Passion
China Glaze - Medalion
Cheeky Stamping Plate - CH16

So there you have it. My #NailsForNewton manicure. There's really not much else to say except that it's for the kids. Only for the kids. Paint your nails blue and gold to remember those innocents that were lost and the parents that can't hug their kids ever again. That's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.
