Deborah Lippmann New Flesh

     Today, I have New Flesh from Deborah Lippmann Forsaken (True Blood inspired), the Bad Things gift set (which is one of the three available sets). Wow, that was a mouth full. I wonder if they could add another name to it to make it more complicated. But long name aside, this polish is a pretty pale peach jelly polish that reminds me a little of my first Barbie's dress...My first Barbie was Peaches and Cream Barbie. Which I would still own if my brother hadn't ripped off her head and threw it on the roof (Yes...years later and it still gets my panties in a twist. I can't help it. lol)...But I digress all I am saying is that this polish reminds me or that Barbie's dress. And this polish is the same sheer peach.

     All pictures are with 3 coats of New Flesh and layer of topcoat. New Flesh applies easily and dries quickly. The only thing that should be noted here is this is not an opaque polish...I don't think you could get enough of this polish by itself to ever make it opaque. It's a jelly...a pretty peachy jelly. I wasn't sure I was going to like this color in the bottle...but once it was on I really liked it. It's high shine and a classy flesh-tone color that even those as white as myself (read this as: "I practically glow in the dark"), can pull off without people calling it tan. Evanora Manicure

     Sorry, I've been MIA lately I've been busy. But in way of making up for it I have some nail art to show you guys today. There will only be two pictures though because it has been raining (or trying to) all day and I can't get a decent outdoor shot to save my life. Anyway...today I am going to show you guys my version of the Evanora manicure worn by the lovely Rachel Weisz as Evanora (the "wicked" witch of the East) in Oz The Great and Powerful. I know a lot of people have done this one but I wanted to try it too. So here's what I cam up with.

What I used:

Deborah Lippmann - New Flesh

China Glaze - Icicle

Nail Art - Black

Striping tape (for crisp lines)

     I applied 3 coats of DL New Flesh, taped off using striping tape, then used a black nail striper to fill it in, then applied the silver stripes. When I was about half way though I was afraid that I wouldn't like this manicure but now that it's done...I freaking love it. I know in the picture her nails are nude except the black 'V'...but if my nails go naked they get all chippy...and we can't have that. So, I improvised by starting with New Flesh (which was kind of cheating because I already had on for a swatch which should be up in the next day or so). Anyway, I really loved the movie, and Rachel is amazing in it so I had to try her nails. Now I'm glad I did. Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Color Club Cloud Nine

     Today, I have Cloud Nine from Color Club's Halo-Hues (2012) collection to show you  guys. Cloud Nine is a pale pink linear holographic polish. And since it's Color Club you know it's a knock you on your butt holographic polish. You're inner Valkyrie will get tranced, I guarantee it. So don't look at these pictures while driving or operating heavy machinery.

Kelly Clarkson - Catching My breath. 

     All pictures are with two coats of Cloud Nine and a layer of top coat. This formula is a just like the others in the collection; thin, applies easily, and dries quickly. Like the others, make sure your brush strokes are straight or you can get some weird holographic breaks. I actually thought this polish would be darker pink than it ended up. In the bottle it looks way more pink than it does on the nail. On the nail it's kind of a baby pink holo. I like it either way. It's one of my favorites from the collection I think.
