We're Simply Meant To Be

So today I have a Nightmare Before Christmas manicure for you guys. I'm calling this one 'We're Simply Meant To Be." With an underlying theme of the love Jack and Sally share (hence the title). It didn't  turn out exactly as I wanted it to...So we are just going to call it stylized Jack and Sally...In fact if you like it you have my friend Marcie to thank for it (I was going to scrap it until she said she loved it). Conversely if you hate it she's also the one to blame (sorry Marcie). Anyway here it is:

Usually, this would be the part where I tell you haw I did it...but this one is pretty complicated and I'm not entirely happy with it so I'm just going to throw this up here and say "Here, I did a thing." If you like it I'm glad, if you hate it...well I'm not happy with it either. But anyway I hope you guys all have a safe and happy Halloween and eat lots of candy, watch lots of horror films and and carve lots of pumpkins. That's all I have for you guys today. Dollish Polish We're Simply Meant To Be

So before I get to the swatch I wanted to apologize for being MIA this week. Between Spring cleaning and a new workout routine, I have been busy...and had a serious case of T-Rex arms due to over doing it with the weights. It's hard to paint your nails when it hurts to extend your arms away from your body. Still a little sore but getting used to it.
Anyway, today I am going to show you guys We're Simply Meant To Be from Dollish Polish's The Nightmare Before Christmas collection. We're Simply Meant to Be is a mix of hexagonal, square and micro glitter, in silver, violet, burgundy, black, pink, lavender, teal, and yellow all in a clear base. For the swatch I applied it over OPI Skull & Glossbones. Enjoy.

We're Simply Meant To Be - The Nightmare Before Christmas OS

All pictures were taken with two coats of We're Simply Meant To Be over two coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones, finished with a layer of top coat. The polish applies easily (which is awesome considering how many sizes and types of glitter are in it) and dries at an average pace. Over all I love this polish. It's so pretty.  I saw the bottle and was like "It must be mine," then put it on and fell madly in love with it. The only issue (and it's not an issue for me specifically) is that the large black square glitter wanted to hide in the bottle. I only got one of them out. Which may be a deal breaker for you...but it's not for me, it's so pretty that with or without the black squares it's amazing. Also seriously if you haven't seen The Nightmare Before Christmas yet get out from under the rock you live under and watch it. It's a freaking awesome movie. Well that's all I have for you guys today. Until next time, stay classy, and stay polished.

Dollish Polish I'm The Boogieman

Today, I am going to show you guys I'm The Boogieman from Dollish Polish. This polish is inspired by Oogie Boogie (i.e. The Boogieman) from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm The Boogieman. For those of you who don't know Oogie Boogie is a big, angry, burlap sack monster, that glows neon green in the dark, is filled with bugs, and is the main antagonist of the film. Also if you don't know this movie, I order you (nicely order you) to go watch it. It's awesome. I'm The Boogieman is a pearlescent sage green polish with medium sized green hexagonal glitter, small green hexagonal glitter, small silver hexagonal glitter, and small coppery brown hexagonal glitter in it.

Stalk Dollish Polish on Facebook here, and visit the shop here

Here's his song. The Oogie Boogie Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas

All pictures are with three coats of I'm The Boogieman and a heavy layer of top coat. And you are going to need the heavy layer of topcoat. the glitter gets a little bumpy but a thick coat of Seche Vite gives it a flat high gloss sheen. The formula is a little thick but applies easily and dries really quickly. Over all I am pleasantly surprised by this polish. I didn't think I was going to like it...in fact I didn't even order it, I received it as a free gift with purchase from a seller on eBay. Even when I looked at the bottle I thought "ehh." But on the nail it's actually quite pretty. I rather like it and I'm not a huge green fan (being this pale green has never been a friend to me). But this green I actually like. I can see this polish being warn for Saint Patrick's Day as my something green (because I loath being pinched but I don't own green clothing). Anyway what do you guys think? Are you loving it? Well that's all I have for you today. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

January Haul 5 - Now With Indies!!!!

So for a short little post before my real post I have another haul to show you guys. And yes I am no longer an Indie Polish Virgin. I am the proud owner of four brand spanking new Indie polishes as of yesterday. Plus I got a few other goodies in the mail. Want to see what I got? You don't have to twist my arm. Here are the lovely new ladies that joined my polish stash this week.

eBay:

Dollish Polish:     I'm The Boogieman         This Is Halloween          We're Simply Meant To Be

My number one nail polish crush (my first ever nail polish crush).
Floam - Nail-Venturous

Yeah, so not a nail product, but seriously like the best lip butter ever. It's not available in my area so I had to buy it online. Yummy, caramel flavored kisses.

Amazon:

OPI - Sprung & A Butterfly Moment

Zoya - Storm & Orly Mermaid Tale

So there you have it the newest ladies to join my polish stash. I just couldn't be more thrilled about finally having a bottle of Floam for my very own. I went all Gollum on it when I opened the package. I stroked it fondly and said "My precious." Which is how I know I'm a polish nerd. Anyway I hope you have an awesome day and I'll be back later with a swatch post. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.

Nightmare Before Christmas Manicure

Today, I am finally feeling better (after a long crappy cold) so I have some real honest to goodness nail art for you guys. I spent...well I spent forever on this one (like 3.5 hours) but I am really happy with how it turned out. One of my favorite movies is The Nightmare Before Christmas..I know I know it's a cult classic and a lot of people like it because of Tim Burton or whatever. But the reason I love this movie is more personal. It was the last movie I watched with my mother before she passed away. And so this movie will always hold a special place in my heart. So free warning every year around this time I will most likely do a The Nightmare Before Christmas inspired manicure (if you look at my Movie Theme Nail Art Post you can see I did one last year as well) because I just love the movie. Who knows one may show up around Christmas too. Anyway, Let's get to it shall we.

Here's some music to set the stage.

So there you have it my homage to one of my favorite movies. This is all free hand nail art...and that's why it took so long. What do you guys think? I am pretty happy with how this turned out. And since I am finally feeling better I will also be posting more nail art. Because, I just love Halloween and Halloween nail art. Until next time, stay classy and stay polished.
